The Finer Details

When should I begin wedding dress shopping?

To relieve the pressure of finding your dream dress, we strongly encourage coming to your bridal appointment 15 months before your wedding date.

The dresses can take up to 8 months to arrive and then you must allow 3 months for seamstress fittings. The more you wish to customise a dress the longer the lead time becomes.

If you have less than 6 months we would advise selecting one of our ready to wear collection gowns, which are hand made, designer gowns up to 75% off their RRP which you take home on the same day and have fitted to you.

Do I need to book an appointment?

100% , without an appointment we wont be able to see you, we plan weeks in advance so, please make sure you book first. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-in appointments.

Do you charge for appointments?

As with all luxury Designer Boutiques we charge a consultation fee. Our Saturday and Sunday appointments are £35 and Weekday appointments are £25. This means you have exclusive use of our boutique and an expert stylist to look after you during your appointment. All booking fees are non-refundable but can be rescheduled with 7 days notice.

How many guests can I bring?

The boutique is an intimate space and can comfortably seat the bride and up to 3 guests. Trust us, this means there is less opinions and therefore way more fun and relaxed for the bride which is our top priority. You should chose your dress because you feel special and super proud in it, not because of what anyone else thinks you should wear. We’ve found having too many guests end up overwhelming the bride and buying your wedding dress should not be stressful! It is also incredibly special to surprise guests on your wedding day as you walk down the aisle, nothing can beat that moment!

What size are the samples?

Our samples range from a UK Size 8-14. If gowns are too big we use clamps and pins to help you visualise them flush to you and if they are a little too small then we can use panels.

Who decides what gowns I try on?

When all brides enter the boutique, you have full access to every dress on the rails and spend the first 5 minutes of your appointment carefully selecting the gowns you want to try on. We recommend selecting approximately 6-8 to start with to try a variety of styles. With our help we can customise and add bespoke options to 95% of our dresses to make it perfect for you.  Please do not try dresses on because of what your guests like, it should only be the gowns that excite you and you can see aligning as part of your wedding day vision!

What prices are your dresses?

The dress start at £1,650 and goes up to £3,600. We are totally transparent about costs involved and ask for you to guide us with your budget in mind.

Our dresses are hand made to order by world leading Ateliers so we are in a very fortunate position to be able to help you customise your gown as much as you would like most of the time.

Trish Peng: £2,700 - £3,600

Caroline Castigliano: £2,700 - £3,600

Wona Concept: £1650 - £3,000

Eva Lendel: £1,600 - £3,000

Jane Aston Bridal: £1,800 - £2,800

When should I visit the seamstress?

We work alongside Louise who has her own studio just a 2 minute walk away from the boutique but please feel very welcome to use whoever you wish. Louise does the majority of our brides wedding dress alterations (including ours when we got married!) so we cannot recommend her enough.

When you purchase your gown you will receive an estimated delivery date on your order confirmation. We ask that straight after ordering your dress you contact Louise (or whoever you wish to use) and ask for your first fitting to be booked for the month AFTER your estimated delivery time.

Louise’s contact details will be provided in your order confirmation email.

She will then be able to advise what alterations is needed and provide you with the price. All seamstress alteration costs are paid directly to the seamstress. Once your gown has been collected and taken home from the boutique we no longer accept any liability.

How do I pay for my gown?

To place an order we require a 50% non-refundable deposit and the remaining balance is due when the gown is collected from our boutique. As soon as your gown arrives at the boutique, we will call you to arrange your collection appointment. We ask that you attend your collection appointment within 10 days of your dress arriving in store.

What if there is a gown that I like from a designer, but you don’t carry that particular style?

While we do stock a huge variety from each designer we unfortunately can’t hold their entire collection. We do however often have the ability to request particular samples. Please email us if you’d like to enquire about requesting a gown that we don’t carry permanently, there will be a £30-£90 charge for us to loan the dress from the designer, depending on their rates. Should you end up choosing it then we will deduct the loan charge from your final balance. Please email thebridalhouseleamingtonspa@gmail.com for any enquiries.

What does made-to-order mean?

Made-to-order gowns are ordered to the closest numerical dress size (dependent on designer), based on measurements taken at the time of order.

With more bespoke gowns, we work directly with the designers on an individual bride basis to ensure custom fit.

How do I know when I’ve found ‘THE ONE!’?

Selecting your very own wedding dress is very much a personal experience. For some brides it is the first dress as its been screaming at them from the rails the moment they have walked into the boutique and for others it could be the wild card us bridal stylists chose!

No matter what the dress is you will know when you have found your wedding dress because it is the one you feel most like yourself in, the gown you feel so very proud in and the best version of you. It should be comfortable, practical and you simply don’t want to ever get out of it!

We always prioritise how you feel in a dress and please remember its not like ‘Yes to The Dress Reality TV’ all the time, not everyone cries or jumps about. The real emotion comes when your very own dress arrives and you try it on for the first time.
